  2. SYMPTOMS. There will be a protrusion of the eyeball.
  3. CAUSES may be from excessive thyroid functioning (called hyperthyroidism), a
  4. blood vessel clotting in the eye socket, tumor, an injury, accumulation of
  5. fluid (called edema) or inflammation.
  6. TREATMENT. If tumor, surgery may be required. Medication may be prescribed.
